Compulsory Purchase & Compensation – Remediation & Reinstatement
Linear projects such as pipelines, power lines, fibre optics and roads can have a very serious and long lasting effect on the value of land and its beneficial occupation. For the majority of those affected it is not so much a matter of compensation as remediation and reinstatement.

Mitigating against the adverse effects is an essential component of every linear project scheme. The Team at Kirkby & Diamond have been dealing with linear projects for landowners, occupiers and the utilities for many years. We know what to expect and how to avoid problems by early referencing, preparing records of condition and agreeing detailed method statements to cover everything from drainage to soil handling, reseeding and replanting.

As a landowner or occupiers representative our charges are generally recoverable from the utility company or acquiring authority.

Compaction, tracking or impact damage may also be experienced in some cases and may need to be the subject of a claim for compensation in lieu of satisfactory remediation works. When buildings are involved our team of qualified building surveyors will be able to advise and ensure that repairs are carried out in accordance with an approved specification.
