Planning Application for Exemplar Sustainable Urban Extension Submitted to Councils - March 2010
A planning application has been submitted to Aylesbury Vale District Council and Central Bedfordshire Council for an exemplar urban extension to Leighton Linslade. Kirkby & Diamond has played a key role in this project.
Kirkby & Diamond has represented their client, the landowner, for many years and previously advised on a range of property related issues. Its' Planning Team was instructed to carry out a planning appraisal of this land and identified that it was the right time to bring forward this significant development opportunity in the context of the planning process. Kirkby & Diamond's multi-disciplinary approach capacity also enabled the site to be brought to the market successfully in a commercial sense, using its in house Chartered Surveying expertise.
Kirkby & Diamond has continued to work closely with their client the landowner and the developer Paul Newman New Homes and has for some time been a member of the development team for this exciting opportunity.
The proposed scheme will include:
- 900 new high quality homes
- New employment space within a business park
- A new Country Park
- A new leisure centre and sports pitches
- A new local centre with a mix of shops, small offices as well as health and community facilities
- A new primary school
- Recreational and play facilities
This development opportunity is an example of how the development potential of land can be realised. Kirkby & Diamond’s client, with its advice, has concluded a successful Option Agreement with the developer, Paul Newman New Homes.
Kirkby & Diamond’s in house expertise and multi-disciplinary capacity has been key to the success of moving the development of this land forward and beneficial to our client.
