At Kirkby and Diamond the quantity surveying team can either act as purely the Quantity Surveyor within the design team and/or carry out the role of Contract Administrator where the designer does not wish to.
The design team usually comprises of:
-
Architect
-
Structural Engineer
-
Quantity Surveyor
- CDM Co-ordinator
-
Services Engineer
Many of the firm’s projects are procured on a Design and Build basis whereby Kirkby & Diamond quantity surveyors carry out the role of employer’s agent. In this role the surveyor administers the contract and carries out all pre and post contract duties including chairing and minuting site meetings, monitoring the quality and progress of the works, issuing Instructions, Notices and Certificates.
On Design and Build contracts Kirkby & Diamond combine the role of Quantity Surveyor with that of Contract Administrator and frequently also CDM Co-ordinator.
If advice is needed on architectural and structural matters or building services the quantity surveyor will bring in a local consultant with whom Kirkby & Diamond have an established working relationship.
Due to the experience of Kirkby & Diamond’s quantity surveyors of Design and Build contracts the team are also able to carry out this service on traditional contracts.
