Rural Practice - Landlord & Tenant

Kirkby and Diamond Chartered Surveyors regularly act on behalf of both Landlords and Tenants in respect of issues relating to rural land and property.

Rent Reviews
Kirkby and Diamond will negotiate the rent review on behalf of a Landlord or Tenant. There are many contributing factors which need to be taken into account to ensure the rent is fairly reviewed. The surveyors and valuers are experienced negotiatiors, but, if called upon to do so, act as Expert Witnesses or presnt evidence in arbitrations and references to Independent Expert.

Lease Renewals
The lease renewal process can be complicated and ibad advice can be extremely prejudicial. Kirkby and Diamond  provides landlord and tenant advice based on many years' experience in negotiating leases, farm business tenancies and grazing licences.

Landlord and Tenant Relationship
Most disputes between a landlord and tenant can be quickly and easily resolved. However, sometimes this is not always possible. Rent arrears, maintenance and disturbance can all be contentious issues.

Kirkby & Diamond can advise on remedies available to either party and assist in resolving matters by negotiation. However, where this is not possible the firm's team of surveyors can assist in determining solutions under the Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures (ARDV).
