2020 vision as Solstice shop units near completion

Published on Monday, 18 November 2019

Two new shop units - part of a major new Build to Rent development of 139 rental homes – will be ready and waiting for new occupiers in the new year.

The commercial units in the Milton Keynes development could attract a range of businesses from estate agents to dentists, according to commercial agency surveyor Nick Bosworth.

They are located below Grainger plc’s multi-million pound Solstice Apartments build-to-rent development, at Silbury Boulevard, on the former Standard Chartered Bank and former DSS offices, opposite the John Lewis store. The development is owned and operated by Grainger, the UK’s largest listed landlord.

Nick Bosworth, based at Kirkby Diamond in Milton Keynes, said the retail units, which will be available in January 2020, are suitable for uses including a retail convenience store, estate agency, coffee shop, offices, dentists or other medical users.

Unit one is 1,959 sq ft, while unit two is 2,539 sq ft, or they could be combined to create a single space of 4,498 sq ft. They are available to lease on terms to be agreed.

Nick said: “We’re now able to announce that the two retail units will soon be ready and waiting for new occupiers to fit out to suit their own requirements. They form an important part of the new Solstice Apartments purpose-built rental development in the heart of Milton Keynes. It’s an excellent location for a range of businesses and the units are suitable for retail or office use.

“It’s quite rare for new commercial units to become available in such a desirable location so we believe there will be a lot of interest from occupiers who recognise the area’s potential.”

Solstice Apartments, which comprises one and two bedroom homes for rent, complete with a range of resident amenities, will be managed by Grainger, providing residents with dedicated onsite management and services.

Other nearby occupiers include Natwest, DHL and KPMG. Milton Keynes train station is just a short walk away, while the M1 junction 14 can be reached by road in eight minutes. For more information contact Nick Bosworth on 01908 558746 or email nick.bosworth@kirkbydiamond.co.uk.
