Cycling business gets on its bike in Bedford move

July 20, 2021

A cycling business has selected Bedfordshire as the location for its new UK office headquarters.

The unnamed cycle company has agreed a nine-year lease on 2,533 sq ft of self-contained, two-storey office space at Doolittle Mill, Ampthill, in Bedford.

Eamon Kennedy, executive partner and head of agency at Kirkby Diamond, said the company was looking to relocate and had identified Doolittle Mill as the ideal base to support its business activities.

“Doolittle Mill is in a great location and the cycle company was very keen to relocate its offices specifically to that site. Working on behalf of the private investor landlord, we were able to negotiate the departure of the existing tenant and dealt with the dilapidations.

“A deal with the new occupier was agreed before the property came to market and there was no void on the building, which is a great result for our client. There have been reports that the office market is really struggling, but that isn’t necessarily the case across the board – the right quality accommodation in a good location will always be in demand.”

Kirkby Diamond is a full service firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants. The company, with offices in Milton Keynes, Luton, Borehamwood and Bedford, works with local and national clients to offer a total solution to their surveying and commercial agency needs.
