Historic pumping station transformed into offices

September 20, 2021

A historic canal pumping station in Milton Keynes, which has been transformed into offices in a £700,000 refurbishment project, is being marketed by Kirkby Diamond.

Businesses looking for unique offices with a waterside setting will be interested in the Soulbury Pumping Station, located on the Grand Union Canal opposite the Three Locks pub, according to Kirkby Diamond surveyor Nick Bosworth.

Using specialist heritage techniques, teams from the Canal & River Trust have repaired and rebuilt the Grade II listed pump house, in keeping with its original character.

The split-level offices extend to 1,378 sq ft and provide a reception area, offices with vaulted ceiling and exposed timbers, a toilet, kitchen, and parking at the nearby pub.

Nick said: “This really has been a labour of love by the Canal & River Trust and they have created wonderful offices in a unique and attractive setting. We confidently expect a high level of interest from local firms looking for premises with lots of character in a lovely location.”
