Two landmark St Albans instructions

August 27, 2025

Barhale Properties has appointed Kirkby Diamond to market offices at the historic mansion house Tyttenhanger Park, set within 40-acres of private grounds, just five miles south of St Albans.

The company has also been instructed by Northtree to attract new occupiers for high quality suites at Clockhouse Court, a comprehensively refurbished, fully fitted Cat A office building in St Albans city centre.

Tyttenhanger Park is a Grade-I listed mansion house that features three floors of office suites, associated communal areas, surrounded by extensive gardens and parkland. Barhale has invested in an extensive renovation of the building at Coursers Road, Colney Heath. Current occupiers include Justin Craig Education, Accountinext, McConnell Group and Vanquish.

Clockhouse Court, situated on London Road, offers modern, interior design-led offices, with communal space for both formal and informal meetings that reflect today’s flexible workplace culture.

Kirkby Diamond’s head of agency Matthew Bowen is leading the firm’s continued expansion across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire, with a strategic focus on the M1 and A1(M) corridors.

He said: “These two outstanding instructions are a strong endorsement of our team’s market expertise and reputation.

“Both Tyttenhanger Park and Clockhouse Court are wonderful office buildings that offer distinct yet equally compelling office environments - one steeped in heritage and surrounded by countryside, the other a modern workspace in the vibrant heart of St Albans.

“It is great to see that Barhale has invested heavily in refurbishing Tyttenhanger Park for the benefit of all occupiers, with the extensive renovation being sympathetic to the building’s rich history and beautiful grounds.”

Earlier this year, Kirkby Diamond was instructed to provide property management services at Tyttenhanger Park. Barhale Properties purchased the property in 2018 with a firm commitment to enhancing its historic legacy. It has made significant investments, including IT service upgrades, security improvements, increased parking provisions, landscape enhancements, a life safety systems overhaul, M&E resilience measures and the refurbishment of the ground, first and second floor offices, as well as the first floor WCs and main reception.
