Two industrial estates full as hat-trick of deals completed

Two busy Bedfordshire industrial estates are now full after the completion of lettings to three companies.

The continuing high demand from businesses searching for industrial premises has helped Kirkby Diamond complete the rapid hat-trick of lettings at Scott Road and Park Avenue industrial estates in Luton.

Acting on behalf of a longstanding private client, Kirkby Diamond has secured two long-term leases on trade counter units at Scott Road. Wireless CCTV has taken units three and four, a total of around 5,300 sq ft, on a five-year lease as part of its expansion drive. Owatrol, a surface coating/protection specialist business, has agreed a five-year lease on the 3,181 sq ft unit 12.

At the adjacent Park Avenue Industrial Estate, print company Bartham Press has agreed a long-term lease on a 5,000 sq ft unit in an off-market deal.

Eamon Kennedy, executive partner and head of agency at Kirkby Diamond, said: “It’s really satisfying to see these two highly popular industrial estates become fully-let with the completion of a hat-trick of deals. We also achieved a new headline rent at Scott Road.

“The continued strong demand for industrial premises enabled us to secure new tenants rapidly. Good quality industrial properties are not staying vacant for very long. The supply level continues to decrease against growing demand which means there is increased competition for properties when they become available.”
